"They began to paw at the belt and pouches of the suit, getting in each others way. Fletcher leaned closer and his eyes narrowed. Suddenly, he moved, very fast. He hit Harry Axe on the point of his jaw and knocked him backward, and at almost the same time he butted Joe Leedy aside and into Zakarian. Zakarian sore and stumbled back into the crowd and Joe fell on his hands and knees. Fletcher was still moving forward. With both of his big hands he grabbed the silverclad arm of the stranger, but as quick as he was it was not quite quick enough. A hissing white beam shot from a tube in the stranger's hand. It hit a man standing close beside the bunk and burned a hole through his shoulder.
