a body for mchugh, jay flynn

It was a padded cell…a room of wall-to-wall mattresses, and a girl crouched in the center of it. She ware narrow chino pants that accentuated her tiny waist and the marvelous length and shape of her legs. She was bare of make-up. In fact, she was pretty bare. She looked up when McHugh came in. There was puzzlement in the wide-spaced dark eyes, then recognition, then panic. She breathed in convulsively, and McHugh watched with interest how the rest of her reacted. Then she threw back her head and screamed. And the whole house fell in on McHugh!

1960.
