The spaceship stood silently beside the caves at the bottom of the cliff. Working like maniacs, the crew lowered thirty duralumin containers and stacked them so that their code numbers faced the light. That done, they scrambled up the ladder. An officer waved a hand at Mowry from the open lock. 'Give'em hell, sonny,' he called. And then the ship strted, waving the treetops in a mile-long lane of superheated air as it streaked off and vanished. In the cave were the thngs he might need for his lonely mission - to so disrupt and upset the planet all by himself that it could be successfully invaded.
